CSIRO Report a wakeup call for State Government on water efficiency and forest management

Western Australia’s peak environment group said today that a CSIRO report on Western Australia’s drying climate was a serious wakeup call for the State Government on water efficiency, and demanded a review of native forest logging in Western Australia.
Released yesterday by the Minister for Climate Change and Water, the Hon. Penny Wong, the report forecast reductions in runoff in South West Western Australia up to 49% over the next 20 years.
Conservation Council Director Piers Verstegen said the report highlighted how vulnerable Western Australia is to climate change. read more >
